Artist Statement All my life I've been passionate about creating through various media (writing fiction, machine embroidery and ceramics to name a few). Another passion blossomed when our family acquired a bull terrier in 1998. The breed had fascinated and intrigued me since I first laid eyes on one as a fifth grader, but it was owning and loving Brindi made the passion ignite! In late 2007, these two passions collided and prompted in me a desire to capture the bull terrier in art. So began this self-taught artist's journey to display the joy de vive and gladiator spirit of this beloved breed in a two-dimensional form using various media and techniques. Along the way I discovered a love for painting that extended to other subjects as well, yet painting dogs remains a special joy. |
